CVS is dropping the generic Viagra, and its Cialis, which can treat erectile dysfunction.
The company, which is based in Tempe, Arizona, is offering CVS a discount on its popular generic Viagra, which is available without a prescription at $19.99 per pill.
A CVS coupon is $1.50 per pill, while a $3 off coupon is included on some items.
Men who buy the CVS coupon have to be at least 18 years old to qualify for the discount.
"If you're buying a CVS coupon, you're buying a discount," said Mike Pritchen, CVS spokesman.
It's unclear what effect the discount will have on CVS's bottom line.
The CVS drugstore also said it would not offer a coupon to men who have been told to stop taking the Cialis.
But CVS officials said they are not concerned about what other men may be doing. The CVS coupon covers Cialis at the pharmacy and is not covered by insurance.
"We would like to assure that people who have been harmed by this drug or who take it are being treated right now," Pritchen said.
CVS said it is not buying into the issue of what Cialis will cost.
"We don't see that in our view, as we have no plans for the CVS drugstore to pay for the discount," Pritchen said.
